     EE department offer common background courses for lower division undergraduate students. After studying these courses, they can understand their fields of interest. Upper division undergraduate students place focus on building professional skills and background knowledge to meet the demand of high technology industry.

Elected courses are offered in the following three academic areas :

1.
Power and Power Electronics : Emphasis is placed on power system programming, power electronics, power quality, and energy exploitation.

2.
Control and Signal Processing: Emphasis is placed on motor control, intelligent control, digital control, precision position control, automatic measurement design, monitoring system design, and digital signal processing.

3.
Communications and Optical Applications : Emphasis is placed on image processing, single chip system design, embedded system design, optical communications, optical integrated components design, semiconductor processing, and computer networks.
